We were busy this year! Looking back, we had a great year in travel that took us around Europe, Peru, the Caribbean and a few places here in the U.S. In addition, we also started Traveller Lifestyle with the intent to share our favorite travel pictures. It’s become our digital photo album and travel journal, but we didn’t know how much work it was to build a website from scratch, customize it, edit your pictures and then write posts about our experiences. Fortunately, it’s come together pretty nicely, and I can’t help but feel excited about our progress and where we’ll be in the next few years. So let me give you a quick tour of our year of travel and show you a few pictures along the way. I hope this motivates you to get out of your cave and travel a bit, cause it’s fun!
Los Angeles, CA
California Sunsets at Venice Beach
In February, we went for a weekend trip to L.A..My favorite moments were working out at Runyon Canyon and chilling out at Venice Beach.
Las Vegas, NV
In April, we went to Las Vegas with a group of our Dallas friends. Kim and another of our friends celebrated their birthday at Tao Beach. Sometimes you just need a little party in your life, and Vegas is the place to go!
Colorful Buildings of El Viejo San Juan
View from El Yunque Rainforest
In May, we went to Puerto Rico to visit my family for Mother’s Day. It had been over two years, way too long! I took Kimberly to El Yunque Rainforest and by the streets of Old San Juan.
In June, we went to Atlanta for a friend’s wedding. We stayed at the Georgian Terrace in Midtown for a few days and took a walk by our old play yard in Piedmont Park.
Seattle Skyline from Kerry Park
4th of July at Seattle’s Gas Works Park
View of Mount Hood from the Red Lion on the River Lodge
In July, we took a week trip to the Pacific Northwest for a tour of Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. We celebrated the 4th of July at Seattle’s Gas Works Park enjoying the fireworks. Check out our post for more fireworks pictures.
In late August through mid September, we took our annual big trip that took us around Europe. First stop was in Dubrovnik, Croatia, but we had a layover in Amsterdam and decided to make the most of it.
For those that like Game of Thrones, Old Town Dubrovnik is where Kings Landing is filmed. Walking around the castle walls of the old town, the views from the mountains and the Adriatic Sea, the yachts, you will love this place, it’s a Traveller Lifestyle repeat for sure.
The Bay of Kotor, from the Castle of San Giovanni
During our stay in Dubrovnik, we took a day trip to Montenegro. We stopped at Budva and Kotor. The most memorable moment was hiking to the Castle of San Giovanni and catch this amazing view, or “Panorama Dobre” as the local guy kept telling me. Read more about it in our post.
Cinque Terre, Italy
Vernazza, Cinque Terre
Monterosso, Cinque Terre
Manarola, Cinque Terre
Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre
Sunset in Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre
Ocean view from Corniglia, Cinque Terre
Then we headed to Cinque Terre, a group of five medieval towns in the Italian Riviera. The specialty in this area, pesto sauce! Wine, salami and cheese was all we had for breakfast. Life at it’s best.
After Italy, we headed to Cannes, France. We had been to the French Riviera before, but had stayed in Nice, FR. This time around, we stayed in Cannes and also took a train to Antibes for a day trip. We had loved Nice so much the first time that we had to go back again and grab a shot of the beautiful coastline.
After the French Riviera, we headed to the city of lights, Paris, France. So many people around the Le Tour Eiffel was quite overwhelming, but once we got into the smaller parts of town, we enjoyed having a meal and coffee in the typical tiny bistro tables all over the sidewalks.
Big Ben from the London Eye
After Paris, we took the Chunnel to London. As much as I’ve travelled, it was my first time in either Paris or London, so my wife was kind enough to include both in our itinerary. She’s the planner, not me! Main mission in London? Find the best Indian curry house! That’s all the food we had and were not dissapointed, London lived up to it’s reputation!
Brussels & Brugges, Belgium
The Grand Place, Brussels, Belgium
The street of Brugges, Belgium
Classic shot of Brugges, Belgium
Last stop of this crazy trip was in Belgium. Amazing waffles, all I can say, you have to try them! We had time to check out Brussels and Brugges before heading back home.
Machu Picchu Ruins, city of the Incas
For Thanksgiving week, we went to Lima, Cusco and Machu Picchu. It was one of our favorite trips we have ever done. Check out our itinerary in case you are planning on going there, and of course, to see a bunch of pictures to get you motivated. There’s a lot do do in Peru so planning is critical.
So that’s it! We conquered 2015 and accomplished most of our goals for the year. We wish you the very best for 2016 and that you make the time to do what you love the most! Happy New Year!
